I've noticed some things that I feel should be addressed, such as a horse's color, height, and breed. These things should all correspond with each other, something that many role players tend to ignore. Here are some common horse breeds, and characteristics that some of you may find very helpful.
Also, a horse is measured in hands. A hand is the equivalent to four inches, or forty centimeters. 'HH' Stands for 'hands high', which is commonly put after their height. So, a horse can be 15.1HH, 15.2HH, 15.3HH, and then 16HH, just as you wouldn't say a person is 4'12''.
* American Paint Horse - Combination of white and virtually any other color. 14.2hh to 16.2hh. * American Quarter Horse - Sorrel, bay, black, brown, buckskin, chestnut, dun, red dun, gray, grullo, palomino, red roan, blue roan, bay roan, perlino and cremello. 14hh to over 16hh. * Andalusian - White, grey, occasionally bay, black, dun, and palomino. 15hh to 16hh. * Appaloosa - Countless combinations of coat colors and combinations exist. Between 14.2hh-16.2hh. * Arabian - Grey, chestnut, bay, roan, occasionally black. Only half Arabians can be palomino, as it is not a true Arabian color. 14hh- 15.3hh * Belgian - Sorrel, bay. 16hh- 18hh. * Chincoteague Pony - All colors. 12hh- 14.2hh. * Clydesdale - Bay, brown, roan, black, or grey. 16hh- 18hh. * Fell Pony - Black, bay, grey. 12.2hh- 14hh. * Fresian - Black. 14.3hh- 16hh. * Gypsy Vanner - Combination of white and virtually any other color. 14hh- 15.2hh. * Irish Draught - Any solid color. 15.1hh- 16.3hh. * Knabstrap - Patterns like that of an Appaloosa. 15.2hh-16hh. * Lipizzan - White. 14.3hh- 15.3hh. * Lusitano - All solid colors. 15hh- 15.3hh. * Miniature Horse - All colors. Under 9.1hh. * Morgan - Bay, black, chestnut. 14.1hh- 15.2hh. * Mule - All colors. Varies from type and size. * Mustang - All colors. 13hh-16hh. * Oldenburg - Bay, black, grey, chestnut. 16.2hh- 17hh. * Paso Fino - All solid colors. 13.2hh- 15.2hh. * Percheron - Grey, black, bay. 15hh-19hh. * Saddlebred - All colors. 15hh- 17hh. * Shetland Pony - All colors. 7hh-12.1hh. * Shire - Black, grey, bay. Up to 19hh. * Tennessee Walking Horse - Black, bay, chestnut, sorrel, white. 15hh- 16hh. * Thoroughbred - All solid colors. 15.3hh- 17hh. * Trakehner - All solid colors. 16hh- 17hh.
Also, here is a list of possible colors on a horse.
* Bay - Bay horses run from tan shades to dark brown and mahogany/auburn shades. Will always have black points. (legs, muzzle, mane, tail, ears.) * Black - Black horses have pure black coats with no signs of brown or any other color. * Buckskin - Buckskin horses are a light-to-dark sandy yellow or tan color with all black points. Buckskins are very similar to duns, however, buckskins do not have a dorsal stripe or other "primitive" markings that are shown in the dun color. * Champagne - Champagne colored horses are born with bright pink skin which remains pink their entire life. What really distinguishes the champagne color from other colors is that champagne horses will have blue, green, or hazel eyes. * Chestnut - Chestnut horses are a copper brown, with manes and tails the same tone as their body or a more flaxen color. * Cremello - Cremellos/Perlinos have pink skin and blue eyes. Their hair coats are not white but are of a light creme color. Some can be so light they appear to be white but if you compare them to a true white horse you will see that they are actually creme. * Dun - Dun horses have a sandy/yellow to reddish/brown coat. Their legs are usually darker than their body and sometimes have faint "zebra" stripes on them. Dun horses always have a "dorsal" stripe, which is a dark stripe down the middle of their back. * Grullo/Grulla - Body color smoky or mouse colored. Usually has a dorsal stripe, shoulder striping or shadowing and black leg barring on lower legs. * Palomino - Palomino horses have gold-colored coat with a white or light cream colored mane and tail. The Palomino's coat can range from a light off-white shade to a deep shade of gold. * Perlino - Cremellos/Perlinos have pink skin and blue eyes. Their hair coats are not white but are of a light creme color. Some can be so light they appear to be white but if you compare them to a true white horse you will see that they are actually creme. * Roan - Roan horses have otherwise solid colored coats, but with white hairs interspersed. The white hairs are not actual spots, but single white hairs mixed with the darker coat color.
Many of these colors have variations (such as a roan can vary from blue roan, red roan, etc.), though those are your basic colors.
If you would like to request a certain breed/color I have missed, just PM me.
Here is a list of possible combinations, and possible foal outcomes. Keep in mind that cremello and perlino are the same.
* Cremello x Chestnut = Palomino, buckskin. * Cremello x Bay = Buckskin, palomino, black. * Cremello x Black = Black, palomino, buckskin. * Cremello x Palomino = Palomino, cremello. * Cremello x Buckskin = Cremello, buckskin, palomino, black. * Palomino x Chestnut = Palomino, sorrel. * Palomino x Bay = Bay, sorrel, buckskin, palomino, black. * Palomino x Black = Bay, sorrel, buckskin, palomino, black. * Palomino x Palomino = Sorrel, palomino, cremello. * Palomino x Buckskin = Bay, sorrel, buckskin, palomino, cremello, black. * Buckskin x Chestnut = Sorrel, bay, palomino, buckskin. * Buckskin x Bay = Buckskin, bay, palomino, sorrel. * Buckskin x Black = Bay, buckskin, black, sorrel, palomino. * Buckskin x Palomino = Bay, sorrel, buckskin, palomino, cremello. * Buckskin x Buckskin = Bay, sorrel, puckskin, palomino, cremello, black.
Though as for a roan horse, when bred to a solid horse, the baby will be more likely to be roaned, seeing as though the roan allele is dominant.
I hope this helps you make a more accurate horse. Thank you.

I have a few interjections about the breed colors. Belgiums can also have Palomino coats. And Paso Finos can have Pinto coat patterns. I'm only telling you this because I had a Belgium I knew, and my sister has a Paso Fino
