The following are the barn rules which MUST be followed to the letter:
> Stallions CANNOT be turned out with mares or other stallions. Stallions would fight, mares would be impregnated, neither of which we want. If your stallion tends to jump out of paddocks, then he must remain in his stall at all times except when being ridden or on a lead and under control. If you want your mare and stallion to be bred, there is a breeding barn for that purpose. We don't care if you own two stallions who have previously gotten along, or if you want to let your stallion out with your mares. It's against the rules, don't do it.
> Keep all dogs under control. Not all horses are dog friendly and Verdant Acres is not held responsible for any injury your dog might sustain.
> Helmets are required for all riders younger than 13.
> If someone is doing a course in any arena, please wait until they are done to enter so as to avoid getting in their way.
> For safety reasons, do not leave your horse in the cross-ties unattended.
> The barn closes at 11 p.m. If you need to be here later than that, please talk to a trainer or manager beforehand so that they know it's just you and not someone with bad intentions when they see the lights on.
> NO SMOKING in the barns. If you must smoke while on the premises, please stand at least 10 feet from any of the structures, and use common sense and put it out completely away from any hay or shavings.
> No alcohol is allowed on VA property, and if you come to the barn under the influence, rest assured you will be asked to leave.
