DISLIKES
GOALS Long term goals are to go to college, become a wildlife biologist, vet, zoologist, or something similar, and eventually get married and have 2.5 kids and a white picket fence and all that nonsense; short-term goals are to breed her mare and train the foal herself, to clean her room (yeah right), and to make a friend or two at her new barn.
FEARS Being pinched (She has no idea why, but she HATES it), fire, hot surfaces, throwing up, someone she loves dying, you know, normal stuff like that.
SECRETS
Erm...she sucked her thumb until she was twelve and she sometimes still does it when she's trying to sleep and feels homesick, sad, angry, or vulnerable in any way.
WEAKNESSES
STRENGTHS
BEST MEMORY The day she bought her first horse, Bluebear, and the day she adopted her crazy Arabian colt, Oliver and his "girlfriend", Cambria the Gypsy Vanner/Percheron. Weird couple, huh?
WORST MEMORY The day her beloved Chihuahua, Tobee, died; he was only two years old and was poisoned by one of those horrible poisonous toads.
OVERALL PERSONALITY
Melody is a fun, quirky girl. She'll do almost anything for a laugh, and she prioritizes fun over pointless things like chores and homework. She is a bit weird though. She loves knitting, and is rarely seen without her knitting bag tucked under her arm. Another obscurity in her personality is her love of animals. She loves them more than she loves people, because she knows that people are cruel and animals have the ability to love unconditionally. For this reason, she is rarely seen out of the company of at least one of her many pets. Mel's idea of fun isn't always understood among her peers. A rather down to earth girl, Melody enjoys staying home and reading or making various forms of art, rather than going out and partying. She loves to go into the forest or countryside and sketch the wildlife there. Being extremely intelligent, Mel is constantly thinking and asking questions, even at the most random times. What may seem like an out-of-the-blue question to others may have been carefully thought out and speculated about for months.
She is usually brutally honest, although she is a talented liar. She tries to tell things like they are, because lying gives her a sick feeling in her stomach that is quite unpleasant. She is a bit devious and manipulative, which comes from being an only child. In short, she knows how to work people and knows how to exploit weaknesses to get what she wants, although she rarely employs the use of such tactics. Regardless, she is a very pleasant girl and can make friends easily, with any kind of person. Despite this, Melody has trust issues and has a hard time becoming close to someone, so she has very few close friends but a lot of regular friends. Although she is brutally honest at times, she is a great secret keeper, and she does not give in to peer pressure easily.
HAIR
Her hair is very thick and long, falling right around her mid-back (about a few inches past where your typical bra ends), so that she can easily cover her breasts with it when naked (very useful). Her hair is a mixture of curly and wavy, neither one nor the other, and it is a coppery color. She is neither a red-head, a brunette, nor a blond; her hair is very unique and very hard to manage, but she gets lots of complements on it. She has bangs that fall just a bit past her eyebrows, which can sometimes obscure her vision and tickle her forehead.
EYES
She has always thought of her eyes as blue gray, but most people call them green, so for the purposes of our discussion, we shall call them er...blayreen. Yes, that will do.
HEIGHT
Five feet, four inches
WEIGHT
130 lbs.
PIERCINGS AND TATTOOS
Six piercings, three in each earlobe. Three tattoos (don't tell her father!), one of a small native fetish (not that kind of fetish, sicko!) bear, colored blue and located on the back of her neck. The tattoo is very small, only about the size of a quarter. It symbolically represents her horse, Bluebear. The second tattoo is a headshot of a Native American wolf with feathers tied in its neck-fur, this one is located on her left shoulderblade and is about the size of the palm of her hand (fingers and thumb not included). The third tattoo is another small one, on the inside of her right wrist, is the Keywork symbol.
OVERALL APPEARANCE
Melody Wolf is a very interesting girl. Overall, most would say she's moderately attractive, although she can't hold a candle to the astounding beauty and grace of some of her peers. (One would think her school was full of celebrities -- how absurd!) Her only remarkable features are her hair, skin and nose. Her skin is pale and extremely smooth, and she has an extremely light spattering of freckles on her arms, shoulders, hands, and knees, so light they are almost unnoticeable (This is what happens when white people get a lot of sun. We don't tan, we freckle). These tiny pale freckles also play upon the bridge of her small nose, which is quite drastically -- although not unpleasantly -- turned up at the tip. Many of her friends constantly tell her how utterly British she looks, also taking into account the typical Irish red hair and freckles. Her eyes are round and expressive, although they are a little on the small side, like the rest of her features (except the lips, which are full and naturally pink). She describes their color as something akin to dirty dishwater, grayish green, although the color is subtly pretty.
Her body is slightly less alluring than her pretty face, however, and greatly detracts from her overall appearance. Many people have told her that, were she to lose ten pounds, she'd be a knockout, but Mel is happy with her current body, which features a slightly round belly and disproportionally small breasts (poor girl). She has a very small frame, and most people don't notice the extra poundage unless they see her unclothed. Similarly, she has rather small hands and feet (size 5), the former of which are often smeared with paint, marker or clay. Her thighs are most proportionate, being round but also firm, thanks to hours spent in the saddle, which also earned her a rather nice bottom (for a white girl), which some of her black friends were rather surprised about, playfully referring to it as a "donk".
STYLE
Or lack thereof? A tee shirt and jeans is her usual attire, although she often dons knee-length socks in a variety of colors and patterns. Her favorites are rainbow striped, but owing to her extremely messy and disorganized life-style, she can never find a matching pair, so they usually don't match. She wears a lot of random bracelets and usually one or two necklaces. Most of her clothes are paint- or clay-stained, and most of her jeans and faded and ripped. Just like her sock scenario, her paddock boots rarely match. She has (well, had) a few pairs, in varying colors and designs, but a few have gotten lost over the years, and she often has to wear a bright yellow Wellington with a blue and green Wellington. She makes up for her slightly smallish eyes by wearing rather heavy eyeliner and mascara, although no one seems to notice this until she forgets to wear it, upon which time people ask her why she looks sick or wonder what's different about her face.

OVERALL HISTORY Oh, I hate this part. Well, little Melly-Belly was born in Leeds, Yorkshire in the north part of a rainy little island called England. Perhaps you may have heard of it? Well, in any case, she was born to Julia McLean, a newly single mother who had left her violent husband just months previously. He had abused a few different drugs, and his wife. Not too badly, of course, but he did hit her, even when she became pregnant. She had had three miscarriages before Melody was conceived, due to her stint of anorexia. When Melody was born, whole and wailing like a fat kid confronted with celery, Julia was so overjoyed that she named her little girl Melody Joy. Her father, an American, would never meet his daughter. For a few short but happy years, the two lived with Julia's parents, Melody's maternal grandparents, who both doted on the little girl and spoiled her rotten. She was their only grandchild. So you can imagine how much they would miss her when her mother fell in love with an American man and moved herself and her daughter to America. She knew that the man, Daniel Wolf, would be an amazing father to her only daughter, and that a life in America would be better and full of opportunity for the remarkably intelligent little girl.
Fast forward a couple of years, and Melody is on the brink of her middle school years. She is nervous, because she's extremely awkward and quite overweight, due to a life of being spoiled and never being denied anything she wanted. But solace came in the form of a long lost friend, a girl she knew from first grade, Danielle. The girl was just as ungainly in looks as Melody was, perhaps even more so, and they became best friends within weeks. Danielle, who had just begun riding herself, brought Mel to the stables with her one day and after that day, Melody was hooked. I'm sure you know the feeling. Horse MANIA. And it was baaad. After only two years of riding, she fell in love, and not with a boy. I'm not talking about a sordid pre-teen lesbian affair, no, this was much more real.
His name was Bluebear, he was tall, muscular, white, and freckled, with the cutest pink nose and the biggest brown eyes she'd ever seen. He was a pure bred, registered American Paint Horse stallion, twelve years old, just a year and a half younger than she was, 15.2 hands, and the cheekiest, goofiest horse on the ranch. She longed to own him, and for four years she waited, watching all her friends get their own horses, only riding Bluebear when she could afford to go on weekends. Then, Bluebear's owner had to downsize his herd, costs were becoming too expensive for him, and he asked Melody if she'd give the beloved horse a good home. A few days and only 700 dollars later, and Bluebear was hers. It was a dream come true. She was 17 years old, and he was nearing his 16th birthday, but she knew that, regardless of his age, they would spend many happy years together. Only a few months after that, a friend of her father's who volunteers at the ASPCA gave her a call about a mare who was extremely green and needed to be adopted right away. When Mel met the mare, a beautiful Gypsy Vanner cross, she knew there was something special there. Using her money made from mucking stalls, she adopted the mare, whom she named Cambria, and began to work with her under the saddle.
That brings us to today, when Melody is set to start her first day at Verdant Acres, having saved a lot of money from working the double shirt at the thrift store.

RIDING, RIDING, RIDING
GET OFF OF MY BACK, AND INTO MY GAME, GET OUT OF MY WAY AND OUT OF MY BRAIN
YEARS EXPERIENCE seven years, since she was eleven.
RIDING STRENGTHS It has been said that she has an amazing connection with her horse Bluebear, if that can be counted as a riding strength (even though it is limited to one horse). People have also said she is a very adaptable rider, allowing herself to be extremely energetic when riding a grumpy pony and, conversely, very relaxed when riding an ex-racehorse. Thirdly, because of the way she was taught to ride, Melody rides with mainly her body and legs, and can easily forgo the use of her hands when making all but the most dead-pan turns.
RIDING WEAKNESSES She's not the most flexible or athletic rider. Her abs are more like unbaked dough than steel, so she sometimes finds it difficult to swing up on a bareback horse or haul herself into her bulky Western saddle from the ground. Also, her balance is not amazing, although she has avoided falling off more times than she can count. When riding bareback, she can sometimes have a hard time keeping her balance, but she has mastered her seat to adapt to her horse's trot and wacky downhill canter, so no one need know that she has the balance of an elephant on a toothpick, on a horse as well as on the ground.
RIDING GOALS to fully train hertwo new horses, Oliver and Cambria, and to take the best care of Cambria the pregnant mare as possible.

PERSONALITY Bluebear is clearly a very dominant horse. He's a bit of a bully, and he uses his bulk to get what he wants out of people and other horses, except Melody of course. It is amazing how this tiny girl of just over 5 feet tall can dominate this massive horse so fully. He's an utter goofball and loves to horse around, so to speak, although he is quite well behaved under saddle.
