General Rules
• Respect all players. They are just here to have a good time just like you. In character, if your person is a little disrespectful then that's allowed. Just don't let it get out off hand. Walking around and bad mouthing teachers is a sure fire way to get yourself warned. However, Out of Character disrespect will find yourself in a heap of trouble and possibly banned.
•Please use some common sense when posting, usually if it wouldn't be accepted in real life, then it most likely would be accepted in game life either.
• I have a very simple posting requirement. 200 words. It's not a lot, and anyone can achieve it. If you find yourself short on words then describe the scenery, or the characters emotions. Resort to the 5 senses also. Its a great way to turn a crappy 100 word post into a magnificent piece of work.
•Tying in with the last rule, Just because the posting requirement is 200 words, doesn't mean you have to limit yourself. Feel free to post as many words as you like.
• However, for the sake of those reading your posts, don't make your reply a novel. Longer posts are fine if the situation calls for it, but under no circumstances does one need to read through 7 paragraphs of your horse swishing its tail.
• Each member may have up to four human characters. If for some reason you already have four and you want more, you may purchase an extra character slot in the Flea Market.
• If you really want you may make a new account for every new character that you create, although it's not required. However if you do make a new account then make sure that you post your main account name in the new joining profile so that we know it is you.
• R-Rated Content is allowed, but try to keep it decent. Don't go overboard on the details, and make sure if your post has r-rated content in it that you post a warning in the topic title.
• Drugs, Sexuality, drinking and explicit content are allowed but like i said, keep it decent. Don't go overboard with details.
• As for posting, Until you are accepted by staff then you can not post anywhere but the ooc forums.
• Please don't pester other members about replying to your thread. We all have lived outside of the game and sometimes we can't make it online immediately. Real lives take precedence over role playing.
• On that same note, If you are going to go on vacation or won't be able to make it online for awhile, be polite and let everyone know if you can by making a post in the Departures forum, which is located in General Business. That way anyone in a post with you isn't waiting around impatiently for a reply while you're on spring break in the Bahamas or something.
• Please keep the images in your signature small enough that they don't stretch the page. Any images large enough to distort the page will be removed by an admin immediately.
• Also being literate is nice. It's not hard to slap a post in Microsoft Word and spell check it. Also try to keep in mind proper grammar and punctuation.
• Other Pets are allowed at H&H but only pets that are legal, nothing crazy like wolves and tigers. These new pets hold the same rule as horses when it comes to flaws. No one's perfect.
• As per usual in rpg's, No powerplaying or Godmoding. It will result in a warning.
• No vigilantes. If someone is breaking a rule, contact the staff and we'll deal with it. We don't need five billion staff member wannabes running around.
Joining/Character Rules
• Please refrain from using silly or immature account names like: "iluvbubblez98" or "S3Xii BABi GURL". Keep your account name simple, and classy. You may decorate your account name any way you like with those cool symbols, just as long as it isn't crazy and overbearing.
• If you post a bio that is WIP [work in progress] You will have up to seven days to finish it. After that, it will be deleted.
• In order to join the fun here at H&H, you must first fill out the Joining application completely and be accepted by one of the lovely staff.
• No Mary-Sue characters (you know...those annoying characters that are not only physically attractive but also perfect at everything else, and have no weaknesses). Tweaks are fun to play around with. Also, don't copy someone's character, be original.
• We allow liquid time, so your character can be in up to three different threads.
• As for pictures, please respect the stock holders rights. And remember not to use images that the stock holder doesn't want used. Also, always give them credit, they work so hard to make sure that we have beautiful images to look at that it sucks when someone steals one and claims it as their own. I will keep an updated list of all the taken names and taken celebrity face claims in the Character Creation board.
• You may only join as humans. Any horses are role played by their owners unless other wise specified. (i.e. If you want another member to play the horse your character is riding.) Horses are secondary characters and each person may own a base number of 3 horses. You may buy extra horse slots in the Flea Market.
• Also, try to keep the male : female ratio fairly even, it's not required but makes the role play more fun. I will keep an up-to-date count of the ratio under the Taken Names thread.
Horses
• Each character may have a base maximum of 3 horses. But remember, not everyone can afford to have a horse, let alone 3. So be realistic when it comes to horses.
• No perfect horses are allowed. Give them some personality, some flaws, something to set them apart from the crowd.
• Try to keep the Stallion ratio down. Most horses are geldings or mares, their just much more common than stallions.
• Horses can't be ridden until they are at least 2 years old, and they will be green at first so you must but experienced or have an experienced rider smooth them out.
• If you want to breed your horse then it is up to you to find the stud and talk it over with the owner. You may then do a breeding post with the 2 horses. It must be kept decent just like everything else in the game. You then post the stats of the Sire and Dam and Maybe will determine the foals stats. You may make requests but no promises. The pregnancy must last a week at least but longer if you want. After that you may have a birthing post.
• If you wish to bring in a new horse/pet to a character you already have in the game then you must choose a horse from the Verdant Acres Sales Barn and post there, or choose a pet from the Pet Shop and post there. Horses and pets do not cost Fleas, so just say you're character has $xxx's and go for it. They can buy what they want and do what they want. The only use for Fleas is to buy member perks. Your character's money/monetary affairs have nothing to do with Fleas.
• If you want a riding lesson for your character or a training session for an up coming show then you are responsible for rping the trainer or finding someone to rp the trainer. If you wish to rp with one of the trainers, then send them a pm and discuss the idea. Then be sure to put their name in the topic so they knows to respond.
• When we have a Horse show, Talent Show, or other animal show, then you need to first register for the show using the provided form. Then when the show runs you may post a thread for your round in the show. A staff member will determine if there were any faults and announce the final results of the show. It will all be done using a random generator to ensure fairness.
Housing Rules
• There are many types of housing available, to own a residence, fill out the Housing Application provided in the appropriate board. Residences don't cost Fleas. They are free but must be applied for and accepted.
• Players may own their own SMALL barns or farms, on which they can keep their horses, but the biggest and grandest barn in the town is Verdant Acres. Players may not have riding rings on their property. The only public riding rings in town belong to Verdant Acres, and they are open for use by everyone.
That's it for now.
